Katy Trail, Dallas, TX

Environmental & Solid Waste | Environmental Assessments

Role: Prime

AZ&B provided Phase I environmental assessments for Phase IV of the Katy Trail. This project includes an impressive signature bridge extension of the trail over Mockingbird Lane with connections to Mockingbird Station. These new trail extensions will add more than four miles to the existing KATY system and will connect McCommas Boulevard at US 75 to the White Rock DART Station at the northern end of White Rock lake. The environmental assessments included properties adjacent to an existing ONCOR maintenance facility where hazardous materials are stored and where the City of University Park’s Maintenance Facility is located. Recommendations for further property evaluations were made as part of these assessments. Included in the assessments were tracks of land that included utility maintenance operations, former steel manufacturing sites and properties adjacent to light rail facilities. AZ&B provided recommendations regarding the acceptability of the property using ASTM standards and making recommendations regarding Phase II requirements for specific properties.
