Andrea Mendoza is a rising senior at Irma Lerma Rangel Young Women’s Leadership School. This summer, she interned with us for eight weeks and worked closely with the engineering and surveying departments.
At the start of her internship, she had limited knowledge of civil engineering terms and no experience with any of the software. Through the course of the summer, Andrea was able to learn how to use MicroStation V8i and ProjectWise and thus, aid the engineers on projects such as the Chalk Hill Trail project.
Andrea says she definitely enjoyed her experience as an intern and appreciates all of the valuable skills that she learned during her time here. In the future, Andrea hopes to attend an out-of-state university and double major in an engineering-related field as well as public policy.
